Mal wieder an der Strickmaschine - Knitting on the maschine again

Vor ein paar Wochen entdeckte ich einen Blogeintrag von knitlitkate .
Sie beschrieb den "Snow drop cardigan" aus der Vogue Knitting Ausgabe vom letzten Herbst 08.Design von James Coviello. Ich verliebte mich sofort und entschloss mich, mal wieder ein Projekt auf der Strickmaschine zu starten. Nach langen Suchen entdeckte ich doch noch eine Ausgabe, die ich mir aus England zuschicken liess.Original wurde die Jacke aus Alpaca/Seide gestrickt. Ich entschied mich jedoch für die Merino/Seta von Lang Yarns.

Couple a weeks ago knitlitkate wrote in her blog about this nice cardigan. It is a pattern from the Vogue Knitting fall issue 08, design by James Coviello. I fell in love with it immediately and decided to start a new project on my knitting machine. Searching everywhere for a copy of this Vogue Knitting issue, I finally found it in england and let it send to me. Originally the cardigan is knitted with alpaca/silk, but I decided to use the nice merino/silk from Lang Yarns.


Ich übertrug das Schnittmuster ins Design-a-Knit Programm. So konnte ich mir die mühsame Umrechnerei und Dreisätze ersparen. Leider läuft das Programm noch nicht auf Mac. Aber mit der Maus klickte ich mich Reihe für Reihe ans Ziel. Maschinenstricken ist doch noch Handarbeit.

I translated the pattern into the Design- a- Knit program. So I didn't have to do all the math. Unfortunately the program is not running on the Mac yet. But with my mouse I kicked row after row, till all the pieces where done. Machine knitting is still real crafting by hand.

Kurz vorm Fertigstellen. Besatz und Kragen fehlen noch. Bis jetzt war es eine knifflige Angelegenheit. Doch ich glaube es wird gelingen und werde die fertige Jacke fotografieren, sobald sie fertig ist---hoffentlich bald.

Just before finishing the cardigan. Edging and color are still missing. It was a tricky thing to make, but I think it is going to be nice. I will show the finished piece soon---I hope.
